14.7.2013, Le Mans
Hi all,
Jim White has posted quite a few photos on-line, see the link below >>
Kart 4 - Alpha won by 10 seconds from Howard's team, kart 43, drivers Steve White, Steve Welsh, Steve Lyall and "Steve" Parker.
The "Juniors" in kart 44 were third, Connor Lucas, Tom McDonald, Sam Tugwell, Tim Oliver and Karl North (Karl helping to get
their average age up a little....). Connor and Tom have gone to Kavos to celebrate....... wonder if there is a kart track there ??
Stef's "Select" team, kart 12 had a couple of problems, which dropped them out of contention, despite the best efforts of Darren Rayfield, Jack Dex, Paul Wilkins, Colin Brown and Sean Durcan.
Kart 33, Q-racing had a strong run to 5th, with regular drivers Adam Willis and Mark Brown drafting in three other strong drivers.
Kart 99 - Spirit of Le Mans won the Clubman class, the son of the circuit manager was one of their drivers..., they are also entered for the UK 24-hour at the end of August and the Spa 24-hour.
Kart 77, Off-line were disappointed to be beaten by the kart that they used last year to win Clubman !!
Kart 46 - Grassroots, rounded out the top ten, with Jon Littlechild and Rob Sadler opting for a slower pace than their usual Rotax karts.
Kart 115 - Team Keane (with GKD66), were 12th, Rob and Danny drafting in some old-stagers, Mike, me and "reckless" Derek ! Danny trying to keep the average age down on that team ! Derek must be the least likely person to receive a black flag... Rob drove a fine final stint to keep Balljoint at bay - they are a quick team from Clay, kart 92.
James Hodgkinson's Pro Tech team. kart 21 were 15th, with Team Petch in 16th, kart 30. Chris driving with his sons Ollie, Max and Harry and including Michael Meadows and Jeremy Metcalfe on the roster again.
Kart 59 Burton Racing and kart 85 Mango Bikes finished down the order after accident damage and mechanical issues respectively.
BIG thanks to Wendy and Dan Willars for keeping us fed and watered all week !!
