RC 26 CHASSIS ADJUSTMENT FOR THE “SECOND” HARDNESS TYRES

FRONT PART OF THE CHASSIS:

Front axle width

  • 1190 – 1210mm (measured over the external edges of the wheels), valid for front hub beam tube Ø 40mm

Clearance height of the front axle

  • Basic positioning of the axle is in the centre of the stub shoe; this adjustment is the most frequently used one.
  • In case the front axle has little grip, or the track is wet, put the front stub axle into the lowest position.
  • In case the front axle has too much grip, place the front stub axles into the highest position.

Toe-out of the front wheels

  • For dry track 0 - 2 mm
  • For wet track up to 7 mm

Position of the king pins

  • Standard adjustment is between 2 mm and 3 mm of inclination = without eccentric on the bottom, use this adjustment when there is no rubber on the track.
  • Further adjustment is between 4 mm and 6 mm of inclination = in the bottom eccentric 0.5 turned towards the centre of the chassis, use when rubber accumulates on the track.
  • Further adjustment is between 6 mm and 9 mm of inclination = in the bottom eccentric 1.0 turned towards the centre of the chassis, use when there is a lot of rubber on the track.
  • Put forward the king pin, put the eccentric 1.0 with the number to the rear
  • In case of small grip of the front part of the chassis start to put the king pin backward, it is possible to go up to eccentric 2 with the number to the front – that is the maximum castor, take care of the wear of front tyres

Stabilisers - standard adjustment:

  • Front stabiliser – leave mounted, with accumulating rubber may be removed
  • Middle stabiliser – leave mounted
  • Rear stabiliser – remove from the chassis
  • Side stabiliser – remove the bolts, with accumulating rubber the stabiliser may be removed

Rear axle:

  • - 50 MS 53 x 2,0 x 1040 mm
  • - 50 MS 38 x 2,5 x 1040 mm to be used with small grip of the rear axle
  • Rear axle width 1390 - 1400 mm
  • Rear hubs Al / L-98 mm (Mg / L-98 mm)
  • with small grip it is possible to use rear hubs Al / L-120 mm (Mg / L-120 mm)

Seat props:

  • Both on the left and right sides of the seat there are two seat props anchored into the mounting of the external rear axle bearing holders to increase the pressure of the drivers’ weight on the rear axle.

Adjustment for wet track:

  • Front axle width 1180 - 1200 mm (front hubs - 40 / 76 Mg)
  • Rear axle width 1310 mm (as the water disappears from the track extend slowly by 10 mm on each side)
  • Remove the front, side and rear stabiliser
  • King pin castor – up eccentric no. 0,5 – with the number forwards, when water disappears the castors may be reduced
  • Put front stub axles and rear axle into the lowest positions on the chassis to increase the pressure of the chassis on the track
  • The toe out of the front wheels 5 mm to 7 mm
  • Leave the seat props

THE CHASSIS MUST BE CONTINUOUSLY ADAPTED TO THE CONDITION OF THE RACE TRACK AND ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS.
