23.-25.05.2014, Press release of the second race of European Superkart Series at Oschersleben, Germany
Adam Kout, man of the moment in the EUROPEAN SUPERKART SERIES (ESS)
Czech driver Adam Kout with his DEA engine MS-kart was the man of the weekend at the “Preis der Stadt Magdeburg” which was held last weekend at Oschersleben. Pole Position, 2 start to finish victories and on top the fastest lap in each race makes it clear that he the dominating driver of the season so far in the ESS after he already won at the opening round at Hockenheim 4 weeks ago.
So for the competitors in division 1 it was about to get the “best of the rest” positions on the podium and rankings to keep the gap for the championship on a minimum. As already shown at Hockenheim Peter Elkmann (MS-kart/VM) showed a strong qualifying performance and achieved the second place next to Kout in the first row. 3rd position was taken by Guido Kleinemeyer with his PVP/DEA machine in front of last year winner Andreas Jost (Anderson/VM) and Marcel Maassmann (Anderson/FPE) who joined the championship first at Oschersleben. Another 27 pilots took place in the grid for the 2 14 lap’s races.
In the single cylinder division 2 it was las year`s champion Helmut Dutz junior (PVP / GASGAS) who took pole in front of Mark Nachtgeller (PVP/Suzuki) and Helmut Dutz also with PVP / GAS/GAS.
Already on the start of the first race with perfect dry wheater conditions it was Adam Kout who stormed into the lead which he didn´t gave up till the end. From 5th place on the grid it was Macel Maassmann who showed a strong performance and took the 2nd place with 11,7 seconds gap to Kout. The podium was completed by Daniel Hentschel (Anderson/DEA) who came from 7th position on the grid after he didn´t had a perfect qualifying. The top five were completed by David Pickel (Anderson/BRC) on 4th place and Andreas Jost on 5th. Zero points were given to Guido Kleinemeyer who suffered a blown rear tyre and Peter Elkmann who did not finished due technical issues.
Winner in the „small“ class was Helmut Dutz junior who finished also 15th place overall in front of Helmut Dutz on 2nd place.
A „happy end“ was achieved for Guido Kleinemeyer in the second race. Also when there was no chance at all against Kout who took his 3rd victory out of 4 season races, it was Kleinemeyer who finished 2nd and scored important points for the championship. Also a strong performance and confirmation of the first race showed Daniel Hentschel who finished again on 3rd place. This time on 4th place finished Marcel Maassmann who kept Andreas Jost behind on 5th place.
So the clear leader in the championship is Adam Kout with 91 of possible 100 points. 2nd place is taken by David Pickel with 55 points close ahead of the duo Guido Kleinemeyer and Daniel Hentschel with 53 points. 4th place is taken by Andreas Jost with 42 points just 1 point ahead of the absent winner from the opening race at Hockenheim, Henrik Lija.
The podium of the division 2 was completely different after the second race and taken by 4stroke powered superkarts this time only. Winner was Xavier Demuys ahead of Ludovioc Demuys both on MS-Kart/Aprilia ahead of Mark Nachtgeller.
